The March

It become a very successful event! A lot of people attended, though the ending was more or less a disaster. When entering Omni-Trade for the last march the whompa could not take the load. We locked Omni-Trade for 2 hours, no-one could leave!

Read on to know what exactley happened.

It all started at a meeting in Reets Retreat, Saturday 12th. We in the Healing Hands had been talking about maybe organizing a peace march. We decided we had to talk about it at least. At Reets we met some friends and suddenly the word was spreading. Soon there were 20 people or so at the meeting talking about and planning on how to carry this through. I guess this event had not been so successfull without all those good advices that came up.
At the meeting we decided to make three marches, one in each major city, Tir, Newland and Omni-1. The first march was to start at 20:00 GMT. Approximately two hours before that, the internet connection for all of us three organizers were lost! What shall we do? If we can not get online and a lot of people await us? After considering a number of alternatives and calls to the internet service provider we decided to wait and see if it got back. We managed to find an old modem and connect with that so we at least could tell some people about our problems. But 19:30 GMT the connection went up again and we all could log in. Already several people had gathered at the south gate in Tir and more were coming.
At 20:00 GMT we took position on the wall to tell how we anticipated to carry this through. Along with Mosca, Docpoff and Teamdoc was also our latest member Mightyboy, recruited just a couple of hours before. We all wish him welcome!
A number of quite simple rules were told before the actual march began. Also Docpoff did his very appreciated P E A C E call.

DocPoff shouted: Give me a P!

Everyone replied him and he went on,

Give me a E!

and the audience was thrilled and followed along in the shouting!

After this warm up exercise it was time to make the first march. All set out to pass Council of Truth. About 40 people from as many as 15 different guilds left the south gate heeding for CoT.
Before the march we were a bit worried on how it should work. Would it be easy for people to follow just one or two persons? Would all be walking on a line or just scattered around?
It turned out to work great! Several had follow on me but also many was walking by themselves. Guess I have never had that many on follow before:-)
Outside Mr. Radimans office we did a quick stop and pleaded that he would listen to our beg for peace. Hope he did!
More and more people joined in during the march and after Tir it was time to take the Whompa to Newland. This went very smooth even if there was a lot of people on the square complaining it got crowded.
When all had reached Newland we headed down to the Bronto Burger to get a bite and also gather people for the next leg.
Some people had left the march but others joined in. DocPoff continued with his warm up exercises and by now the crowd was shouting at the top of their voices.
Halfway through the leg in Newland we had the pleasure to listen to a peace speech by Breogan. A very nice one and everyone was touched by it. Now it was time for the most dangerous and hardest part of the march. To get into Omni-1. As most of you know there is no whompa from Clan or Neutral territories into Omni-1. We didn't want to use the grid since that would mean several of the lower level participants that not yet have the art to master this superb way of transportation. Therefore we had to run.
A large part of the planning of the march was to find this way since none of us usually run to Omni but rather use the grid. But starting in Borealis, passing the Omni-Pol outpost down to the ferry to 2HO was quite safe as earlier expeditions in the area had indicated. Eventhough a large part of the route is low supression gas area only a couple of participants were attacked in 2HO. Though these were bravely defended by people like Tagorn. Much unfortunately though we did loose some people who lost the party and their way. It was much easier to keep the party together in the towns, we also needed to move quickly both to avoid attackers abut as well to be in time to Omni-1. From 2HO we took the Whompa to Omni-Entertainment and then Omni-Trade.
When entering Omni-Trade we discovered that the Whompa was not really designed for that many people to travel all at the same time. It completely shutdown, leaving a lot of people stranded in Omni-Trade. Rumours also tell that other parts of the whompa system was affected. Also there was something wrong with the gate on the bridge into Omni-HQ so no-one could actually enter. After almost two hours the first people started to find ways out of Omni-Trade. During those two hours we had tried a number of different ways to get into Omni-HQ. We don't know if this was a sabotage directed towards the march or if we was just unlucky. But anyhow it probably saved a lot of lives. Omni-Pol who had secured Omni-HQ and placed guards along the route reported about a planned ambush on the march by Dark Carnival and TBA. But since the whole march was locked in Omni-Trade no-one was ever attacked.
Finally after being able to escape Omni-Trade several of the people from the march had gathered in Reets Retreat. Once there we scouts reported that Dark Carnival and TBA had withdrawn from Omni-HQ and we decided it was safe to go there even without the protection from Omni-Pol. A small number of people gathered on the stairs to Mr. Ross office and both held some speeches and sang some songs.
Leopard made her award-winning dance and also sang a very nice song. Even if we weren't that many as before we were the more determined to also have Mr.Ross listen to our message and stayed there for quite a while.
After about an hour we all took farewell after this very successful march. We would like thank everyone who participated and made the march into what it became.
